At Prenton Prep all children have regular P.E. lessons as part of the curriculum with weekly
swimming lessons from Year 1. Junior classes use the excellent facilities at the Oval Sports centre and
the Wirral Tennis Centre.
Sports taught include:

As members of the Independent Schools Association the children have the opportunity to compete with
other ISA Schools both at regional and national level for swimming, athletics, football, and netball.
Each year we attend the ISA North football tournament and have been very successful, being crowned
as NORTH ENGLAND ISA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS in both 2005 and 2006. As such we have been invited to the
National finals finishing THIRD IN THE NATIONAL ISA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT on both occasions. A feat of
which we are extremely proud.
Swimming plays a large part in life at PPS. We have had several successful galas and our swimming team
recently WON THE BIRKENHEAD SCHOOLS' SWIMMING GALA for the fourth year in a row. As a result, we
qualified for the Wirral Schools' Swimming Gala 2009 competing against all the other area winners.
Having won this event in 2007 and finished third in 2006 and 2008 we approached the 2009 gala with high
hopes. We won medals in almost every race and eventually were very proud to emerge as winners of the
gala - becoming CHAMPIONS OF THE WHOLE WIRRAL PENINSULA, an area with over one hundred primary schools.
This is quite an accomplishment for a school of our size!
Our curriculum is further complemented and enriched by a range of out of school clubs which
allow the children an element of personal choice in their development programme.
